I have scattered memories of amazing things

I don’t know what really happened in my childhood, but I remember some things about it that seem quite amazing to me now. These thoughts are very unorganized, but I want to record them in any form possible before I forget.

I remember saying to my cousin Jeff that our computer has a processor whose speed is equivalent to that of a 500+ MHz Pentium. This is in the days when the Pentium II wasn’t even released yet. I think we had some sort of AMD processor, running at perhaps 300 MHz. Using an old DOS utility that was probably developed by Norton or something similar, I ran some benchmarks which detected the processor as a 500+ MHz Pentium. It seems strange to me now.
