Installed OS X Tiger on my Mac Mini

I just reinstalled Mac OS X after accidentally wiping the hard drive. This computer is surprisingly fast. It’s a 1.42 GHz G4 with 1 GB RAM, and so far, everything moves really smoothly. It’s really good with a wireless keyboard and mouse, too. I’m using a shared Internet connection.

My Dell desktop has an external USB 802.11b connection at 11mbps. It’s connected to my wireless router downstairs. I grabbed an Ethernet cable and connected it to the Mac Mini, crossover. Then I checked the box to share the wireless connection. Woalah: the Mac is online, connecting through my PC to the wireless connection to the router to the DSL connection. I tested it on BandwidthPlace:

Sweet.

I’m running Software Update and installing 12 updates now, including Java 1.3.1 and 1.4.2 Release 2, GarageBand Update, iMovie HD Update, iPhoto Update, iPod Updater 2006-03-23, iTunes Phone Driver. Looks like it’ll take awhile. Anyone know something fun to do with a Mac?

Do you know anyone who wants a Mac? Maybe I’ll sell it on eBay: I see them selling for $550+. That’s a pretty good resale value, although I’d definitely be willing to sell it for less to someone I can see in person.
