I seriously considered getting one for a moment. But we already have a GameCube, and DDR: Mario Mix is enough for me for now. But when the first price drop comes around, you bet I’ll be thinking about getting a Wii, the ultimate family system. Seems easily worth the $250, but hey, got to save money anywhere possible.

OK, this is impractical right off the bat because algorithms don’t reproduce and they don’t get some randomness thrown in like biological stuff does. Still, after reading Where lies the physics of mind?, I think there’s a very good point to be made here. Evolution does not make sense. Yes, natural selection is fine, it’s nearly obvious. Evolution is obvious at first glance, but look closer and you’ll see it’s impractical and not the way things actually are. Read the rest of this entry »

The Wii has arrived in Marks Hall.
Jason Lee picked up a new Nintendo Wii, waiting in line for it early this morning. (Although Nolan apparently paid for it, he’s going to pay him back.) It’s really, really sweet. Not only is it by the far best-looking of any of the next-gen consoles, it’s also the only revolutionary one. You get an entirely new control scheme. And they really went all-out on the purchase: four controllers with nunchakus and a handful of new games.
