At yesterday’s Genesis lesson, Pastor Norbert covered James 4:13-17. Here’s what Jesus says:
Warning about Self-Confidence
Look here, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we are going to a certain town and will stay there a year. We will do business there and make a profit.†How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone. What you ought to say is, “If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that.†Otherwise you are boasting about your own plans, and all such boasting is evil.
Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.

Yesterday was a big day for Ron Paul supporters.
On just one day, in honor of the 234th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party, the new American revolutionaries brought in $6.04 million, another one-day record. The average donation was $102; we had 58,407 individual contributors, of whom an astounding 24,915 were first-time donors. And it was an entirely voluntary, self-organized, decentralized, independent effort on the internet. Must be the “spammers” I keep hearing about!
Ron Paul
Why Students support Ron Paul:
I was tempted to donate myself, but I decided not to, as I haven’t yet decided which candidate to support. The effort was organized on the internet at teaparty07.com, and I am impressed with how well they did. Their goal was $10 million in a single day; that would have far, far surpassed any previous records– but even $6.04 million is incredible. This beats John Kerry’s record after he was selected for the Democratic Party’s nomination. Read the rest of this entry »

I like Mike Huckabee. There’s a site at IndependentPrimary.com where you can vote for a candidate. I voted Mike Huckabee. But depending on how things turn out, this could easily change to Ron Paul or John McCain. I’m currently investigating Dennis Kucinich, although he’s a Democrat, I’ll keep an eye on him. How To Vote In Primaries And Not Be An Idiot – supports Kucinich, which I don’t agree with – but I learned a lot about how primaries work.
So, Huckabee is a top choice, but Ron Paul is very intriguing as well. My mom mentioned that it’s unfortunate that we don’t have a great candidate on either side, that everyone is so split. I disagree. Votes are split because there are many great candidates. Obviously, nobody is perfect, but I seriously don’t know anyone who could do a better job than any of my current top 3 (Huckabee, Paul, McCain). So they’re all pretty good people, and I’m impressed. Just learning about them has taught me a lot, and you can really tell these are smart people.
(I never had this impression with a Bush or Clinton.) Read on for some YouTube videos… Read the rest of this entry »

First, let me say that if you don’t want to read what I have to say about politics (as one reader recently told me), then take a look at my business blog or technology blog instead (and subscribe to them by email). Otherwise, here’s a very compelling video supporting Ron Paul…
(If it says “We’re sorry, this video is no longer available.” just Refresh the page and try again. It WILL work.)I don’t intend to make this a political blog, but it is a personal blog, so I post about whatever interests me. If you’re interested in business, sign up for my blog Track Forward. If interested in technology, sign up for The Web Guy. Keep reading for a video of the Ron Paul Story… Read the rest of this entry »
