		<description>Not to say I disagree but rather I don&#039;t totally agree. Regarding Osama Bin Laden, hind-sight is always 20-20. For some justifiable reason at the time, someone was most likely following the old adage &quot;The enemy of my enemy is my friend.&quot;

Of course we can see how that falls apart. But in that age, the bigger fear was Communism and the Soviet Union.

As for the Patriot Act. Maybe I read too many novels ... but it would make sense that with the huge staff at the pentagon, they are always running scenarios and &quot;What ifs ...&quot; I would expect and want to have numerous situations covered ahead of time. Someone should and probably is being paid to put together plans, many of which are never more than a theoretical exercise. This makes it easy to pull something off the shelf and revise to fit the needs of the moment.</description>
