The Motive SmartBridge background task is installed with Verizon Online’s software which is included with their residential DSL service. It has an autoupdate prompt which runs at startup. I disabled it on my computer simply because I don’t know exactly what it does. Since I don’t have a use for it and anything running uses up some memory, I’ll keep it that way. Help!!!
I keep getting after start up the msg that Motive Directory has to be shut down because of Kernel 32.DLL
What do I do?
I don’t have Verizon, I do have dsl with telus in Canada.
Any help is appreciated.
After I disabled motivesmartbridge in msconfig (part of the BT broadband download) my OE ’switch identity’ cursor has stopped rolling to the bottom name in the list; (I’m using w98es). What the hell was it playing at moving cursors?
Hey Folks:
In my case Motive Smartbridge had to do with NetAssistant, a trouble shooter for my Internet Service Provider (Sympatico). I simply did the control panel/add or remove programs thing…it was in the list as Net Assistant, click remove & NO MORE MOTIVE SMARTBRIDGE :O)
thanks, this morning I received the same message and tried to update, (first I clicked no)but it came up with an error message. Looked it up in search and found your info. I tried it and it worked perfectly. Thanks again
Thanks for the tips on removing Verison Support Center! It did get rid of the Motive Smartbridge prompt that I recieved mant times. It helped me a lot. Thanks again.
