Motive SmartBridge

The Motive SmartBridge background task is installed with Verizon Online’s software which is included with their residential DSL service. It has an autoupdate prompt which runs at startup. I disabled it on my computer simply because I don’t know exactly what it does. Since I don’t have a use for it and anything running uses up some memory, I’ll keep it that way. thanks for helping me s— can motive smart bridge, greatly appreciated. Regards Richie

I just deny Motive Smartbridge access to the internet via my ZoneAlarm. Would this keep Motive from doing (or not doing)whatever it is that it does (or doesn’t do)? I’m still not sure what is and it’s purpose so i just prefer that it not run.

oh by the way message above i blocked it with norton internet security

well i have had some billing issues it seems like just before they lauch a suspension for non payment they launch Motive SmartBridge and within 24 to 48 hours my system goes down. i have become wise to it. it is like some kind of webform that updates for different reasons in my case it was that.

Hey, this was really helpful. The Motive Smartbridge thing has been bothering me for months, but I didn’t know what it was. I knew it was something from Verizon but I didn’t act on it because I was scared. Now it no longer bothers me. I got rid of Verizon Online Support Center too. Thanks
