Accepted to USC Early Entrance

Yep, it’s true, I’ve been accepted to the USC Resident Honors Program. It’s very exciting! The major I chose is “Computer Engineering and Computer Science.” I have until May 1 to make a final decision of whether to attend.

I’m very happy to get accepted. Looking at the others, my grades and scores are not stellar, and the program is quite selective. I don’t know how selective exactly, but I do know that they don’t accept everyone =). This seems to be a great program for me for a number of reasons. Yes, I’m not into high school “fun” (I didn’t even know what Sadies was, or even how to spell it, until just a few weeks ago). But I also want to learn more about computer science and engineering, which is very very small at Walnut High, and opportunities are very limited. It’s a little frightening though. I’ve never taken a serious computer class, and USC offers the opportunity to do so.

On the other hand, USC is expensive, and I don’t think I have much chance for financial aid or scholarships. However, I am reasonably sure that I could raise the money if needed.

congratulations! did you decide to attend? e-mail me because I too am applying RHP for 2007-2008 and would love information

Tell me your secret!

email me! i am some random girl , who is dying to get in to that program.

GReat! Job.. I could’ve done the same thing, but chose not to enter early cuz I got ASB president..My question is..why would u leave before ur senior year? Three years of work not to have a prom and a Graduation? That seems crazy

I am a Software Engineer (Programmer/Analyst). Be careful, there are not as many jobs out there as there used to be in the computer business. Lots of layoffs. My advise, go into something medical…Radiography or something. If money is an issue, you can do Radiography in two years. Just a thought, don’t let it bring you down.
