I have a pretty good hunch that we’re not done with Dumbledore for book 7. Wouldn’t surprise me at all if harry went back to the pensieve or time turner, or at least if Dumbledore left hidden more info about the other Horcruxes hidden somewhere… My question is: who is the new headmaster going to be, and will they have a real interest in Harry’s protection and fighting the Death Eaters, or will they be a puppet of the Ministry of Magic?
I think she wanted Harry to fight primarily on his own in book 7. I was surprised Dumbledore was killed, but such is life. I’ll be interested in seeing how she ties Harry and Ginny back together and what role Neville and the other DA members play in the final episode. Harry says he will not be returning to Hogwart’s…I am sure she will be packing the last book with many adventures with Ron and Hermione and their quest for the remaining portions of Tom Riddle’s soul.
I think Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince was a good book until the ending, i do not think Dumbledoor should have died or that Snape should have killed him.
Jack, I think you are wrong, as you will see in book 7. The Real message is to hang on to love no matter what happens. As Dumbledore said, one of the weaknesses of Voldermort is to think that death is the worst thing that could happen to a person. I’m positive that HP readers are wise enough to agree with dumbledore. You can kill a person but you can’t kill love.
we’ll all lose our love ones someday. I personally think the death was appropriate.
This book is extremely upseting, dark and just plain bad. Dumbledore is killed in a twisted dark way that is uncharacteristic of a children’s book. This book sends a message that trust and love is not the way for victory for Dumbledore epitomised it and it was this that lead to his death. It sends a message that love is a weakness and that is why harry asks ginny to stay away from him. Kudos Rowling for mercilessly destroying the very essence that these books had stood for.
