Me Again. I was able to uninstall all JRE's and reinstall the latest version of JRE 1.6. It works great. Here is the problem maybe you can help me with. I am running Windows SP2 Home Edition and IE7. I cannot install the update 816093 for Microsoft Virtual Machine. It's a never ending loop to an update that won't update. I have tried the "jview", "JVIEW", "jview.exe", and "JVIEW.exe" at the C-prompt and it says "it is not a recognized external or internal command", which apparently means that you don't have MVM installed in the first place. But when I used the MSJVM Diagnostic Tool, I found over 300 applications that are dependant upon the MSJVM, most of which are MS updates. This is assuming that MSJVM and MVM are one in the same. If I were to use the MSJVM Removal Tool, MS takes no responsiblities for its debilitation effects. So I refuse to use it because I am uncertain of whether I need to. I am almost half tempted to format my hard drive and start from scratch in thinking that something got lost along the way, but it would take days to get my system back to the way it was. Do I just shut the update off? Does the update even apply to me? What happens to my system after December 2007 in the SUN/Microsoft saga? Thanks in advance. (Chuck)

Ditto. Don't even know what the hell the VM update is all about. All I know is the Windows notification will not go away. Also, whatever it is, I have also a problem with updating Java 1.5.10 (whatever it is). Any ideas e-mail me. Thanks. Chuck crbmachine@yahoo.com
