This article on BBC made me smile. Dog starts car after eating chip. Mr Gorman said: “I was glad to get the car started for the member. They will now have to take George [the dog] with them in the car until things take their natural course. It is the first time that I have had to get a dog to help me to start a car.”

I just finished watching the entire video, and it’s very good. Better than any TV show or movie I’ve seen. Highly recommended. Google Tech Talk on Human Computation. If I have time, I’ll add some of my many thoughts on it here.

George Lucas made a public announcement today, September 20, saying that his Lucasfilm Foundation will give $175 million to the University of Southern California. This is the largest single donation the university has ever received. Part of the money will be used for the construction of a new 137,000-square foot, state-of-the-art home for the university’s acclaimed cinema school.
