Hey elliot, I was a customer of media temple until about a month ago. I had about 10 sites there... some with databases, some without... they were all slow. I tried them in various countries in the world and in some places, they just timed out. Even on a fast connection in the US, there was a lag between requesting the page and it loading up. I then signed up for slicehost, and I have been with them ever since.

Really, Colin? Have you tried it? Their marketing stuff makes it sound really good: when performance degrades, they can simply add more servers (supposedly).

Hi Elliot,

I would recommend against Media Temple's Gridserver. They seem to have oversold the service. If you want a lot of storage for a bunch of websites but arent concerned about performance, it is good. If performance is a concern, then look elsewhere.
