If you really are so depressed and sad, kill yourself. Why make those other people suffer? Why make their families suffer? The only reason you would do something like that is if you were seriously ill (mentally).

The answer probably lies in answering questions such where did I come from, and why am I here? Religion in fact does answer those questions. Atheism only has one place to turn to, and that is man himself. Let's not forget that humanism is a religion.

1. Nope, I don't think the Bible's historicity alone is what makes it a book to live by.

2. Yes, the Bible as a whole explains the importance and purpose of life. Of course, with free will, we're all welcome to select our own majors, etc.

3. Okay, so where do the answers lie?

"It has been proven to be perfectly historically accurate in all cases where it’s feasible to do so."

There's something unsettling about this sentence, and I'm not sure what it is. But let's assume, in any case, that we agree the Bible is historically accurate. Does it therefore become a book to live one's life by? A history textbook is also historically accurate, generally, but no one finds solace and meaning (in the "what is the meaning of life?" sense) in textbooks, do they?

Does the Bible even answer the question? Which book of the Bible tells me what the hell to do with my life? What to major in, what type of jobs to seek out after I graduate, who to marry?

Also, I think you're mischaracterizing atheism a little bit. I wouldn't call it an "answer" to anything. It's more like the assertion that the answers don't seem to lie in religion.
