Sweet, MacBook Air?

Take a look at Dell and Lenovo's offerings, too. They have notebooks starting at $549 (Vostro 1400).

Happy belated birthday! Mine was on the 18th :)

My laptop is about to keel over and die soon - I'm looking into getting a Apple notebook.

It actually isn't the thinnest laptop ever, just the thinnest currently in production. In 1998(!), Mitsubishi released a laptop called the Pedion which was probably thicker, on average, than the MacBook Air, but at its thickest point was only 0.724". It was $6000, riddled with hardware problems, and wasn't on the market for very long.

However, even that wasn't the thinnest notebook. In 2003, Sharp had a laptop called the Muramasas, which was only 0.54" thick and ran off a Transmeta Crusoe.
