Have you heard “Bubbly”?
Chances are - you have. Here it is on YouTube. I’ve heard it often, and it was only today that I Googled it to find out the name of the song and the name of the artist. Here’s the main section of the lyrics:
I’ve been awake for a while now
You got me feelin’ like a child now
‘Cause every time I see your bubbly face
I get the tinglies in a silly place
It starts in my toes
And I crinkle my nose
Wherever it goes, I always know
That you make me smile
Please stay for a while now
Just take your time, wherever you go Continue reading ‘Colbie Caillat - Bubbly at Age 21′
Since Steve Jobs first announced it, I’ve been excited about the iPhone. My old Nokia is fine, but it scrolls my address book extremely slowly, the camera’s quality is very low at 640×480, and it has only 2 MB of memory. Compare that with the low-end iPhone: fast address book scrolling, high-quality camera at 2 megapixels, and 4 GB memory. I’ve read tons of reviews, watched lots of videos, read the tech specs and did some minimal research on what launch day would be like.
So come Friday, June 29, I decided that if I’d had a good day, I’d walk over to the Apple Store, Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica, and pick up an iPhone. At 6 PM, I searched online to see what the release was like. I couldn’t find any reports on the Santa Monica Apple Store, so at 7 PM, I decided to go out and walk down to the store.

A look at Third Street Promenade, Santa Monica, on the day of the iPhone launch.

One of the two residential dining halls here at USC is “Everybody’s Kitchen”– also known as EVK. Sometime over the past two years, I think they switched to a new music provider. I really like the music they’ve been playing for the past couple months. It seems to be all of my favorite songs! Here’s what I heard at dinner today, at about 9:30 PM. I was using iTunes just now, and I wanted to locate the audio file for a podcast on my computer. So I right-clicked its row and selected “Get Info.” That brings up a window which has the path of the song, but this field is not left-click selectable. (I use iTunes 7.1.1.5.) I was afraid I might have to resort to typing the path in the Windows “Run” box, but fortunately I tried right-clicking the area. To my surprise, this context menu appeared, and it was as if it had read my mind!

Today iTunes prompted me to download and install a new iPod software version (1.3). I don’t like downloading updates without knowing what they changed, so I tried looking for a version history. I couldn’t find one. The closest thing was the iTunes version history on Wikipedia, but it doesn’t seem to cover iPod software. Is there an iPod software version history somewhere?
Want to get the best earphones? Look for a higher impedance, measured in ohms.
Here’s a comment from someone on Digg. I don’t know if it’s true, though, so read with a grain of salt and do your own research.

I got this song stuck in my head today. All remembered of the words were “C’mon baby, twist and shout.” Well, I looked it up: Twist and Shout, by the Beatles. Continue reading ‘Twist and Shout - The Beatles’
I just heard this song on K-Earth 101, and now it’s stuck in my head. I found it on SingingFish so I can listen to it as much as I like… Continue reading ‘Carole King: I feel the earth move under my feet’
An awesome article on LifeHacker that should come in handy someday. Of course, it might need to be updated for 2006.
