I’m reading Cocoa Programming for Mac OS X, Third Edition, by Aaron Hillegass. In Chapter 1, he has a section called How to Learn. I think this applies well to any subject, whether it’s computer programming or art history. I tried to install ooVoo on my iMac, but it would only create a folder called ooVoo.app with a red minus sign at the bottom right.

Although there’s no real way to recover a lost root password, you can change the root password even if you do not know the current one. You must have physical access to the machine in order to accomplish this task.
