via Slashdot, story on The Register

This story is interesting to me because it’s something of a small inspiration. This 17-year-old teen spent the summer unlocking the iPhone. From what I’ve read, he didn’t do it himself– it took help from others. But he deserves credit, and he’s getting a lot of publicity from it.

Now he’s traded the original unlocked iPhone in an exchange for a car and 3 more iPhones. I don’t know him, of course, but it’s pretty cool to see someone get rewarded for their efforts.

I should get hacking.
