Last night, my iPhone wouldn’t charge, whether I plugged into my laptop or directly into the wall with the Apple-provided AC adapter. The icon at the top right showed a green battery with the lightning charging symbol, but the battery just wasn’t getting charged.

It was still showing 20% remaining or 10% remaining warnings, even after being plugged in for hours. When on the battery screen (the large battery shown when you wake the iPhone, before you slide to unlock), the battery was low and red, but didn’t look like it was charging.

I thought about the last change I’d made. I’d installed TinyProxy to connect to the Internet on my laptop through my iPhone. That was it! All I had to do was Uninstall TinyProxy, and a short while later, it was charging properly.

That’s unfortunate, because I really liked the convenience of being to access the web on my laptop. Many other phones already allow this, and have been doing it for years, so I hope AT&T doesn’t try to make it a premium feature. I guess I will have to reinstall TinyProxy the next time I need to use it. Luckily, it can be installed wirelessly pretty quickly.

Anyone know why this might’ve happened? Is anyone using TinyProxy, but still able to charge their iPhone?
