Apple Pushes Safari 3.1 on Windows Users

Posted on March 21st, 2008 by Elliot

It’s a whopping 22.65 MB (or 22.70 MB, depending on where you look)! I wonder how big Firefox is.
Safari for Windows is the fastest and easiest-to-use web browser for the PC. It displays web pages faster than any other browser and is filled with innovative features — all delivered in an efficient [...]

Black GadgetWrap iPhone Smartwrap Silicone Case Review

Posted on November 15th, 2007 by Elliot

On Nov 2, 2007, I ordered a black GadgetWrap iPhone Smartwrap Silicone Case. The thing I loved about it is that it has a method for storing the headset cable, so it doesn’t get insanely tangled every time I put the iPhone in my pocket.
The cost of the case was $7.99, plus $6.05 shipping for [...]

Here’s how to fix it:
All,

Albatross18 on Mac OS X with Parallels

Posted on November 6th, 2007 by Elliot

I tried Albatross18 on my new 2.4 GHz Apple iMac via Parallels, and it’s painfully slow. It really doesn’t support 3D acceleration. However, I’m writing this post in Firefox under Windows XP under Parallels now, and that works fine. 2D games, such as StarCraft, are also fine. It’s just 3D games that simply do not [...]

To add a new node, press the Tab key. That’s what that funny-looking arrow ->| symbol is. Documented in the wiki here.

Why Macs Suck

Posted on November 4th, 2007 by Elliot

I have so many gripes now, that I felt I should start an ongoing list.

Mouse acceleration curve is broken.
They crash and freeze as much as Windows PCs.
Default “home” and “end” key behavior is stupid.
Default key repeat rate is maddeningly slow.
No built-in memory card reader.
No TrackPoint.
Default “tab” behavior sucks: it selects text boxes only.
You need a [...]

Switch tabs in Safari

Posted on November 3rd, 2007 by Elliot

This is pretty hard to figure out, but at least the “Help” function in Leopard works pretty well. Just type “tabs” and you’ll see the answer there shortly. In summary, it’s simply command+{ for previous tab, command+} for next tab. That’s probably command+shift+[ and command+shift+] on your keyboard.
