Here’s a URL used in one I saw today:
http://www.paypal.com7cgi-bin-webscr-LOGON-ID-LOGON-sec-user241756.gsecure.net.jikao.com.tw/.https://www.paypal.com/
(Don’t go there!)
That’s a long link, it starts with www.paypal.com, and it has words like “secure” in it. But visitor beware: the domain name is jikao.com.tw, not paypal.com!
Reported to Gmail as phishing.

I’m getting TrackBack spam that links back to my own blog. Where’s this coming from?
Is the spammer just too stupid to link to some other site?

Coincidentally, I launched a new site called the opposite of TrackBacks… TrackForward.com. Congrats, you must be among the first to hear, because [...]

What is a challenge/response spam filter?
When an incoming email arrives in your inbox, the spam filtering service hides it from you. It sends an automatic reply to the “From” address of the email, requesting that they respond to verify that the email sent was not spam.
If the email is spam, the “From” address is likely [...]

There are much better tools to fight spam today, but it remains a problem. In my Gmail account, I got tired of looking at the 37,493+ spam emails sitting in my account. They were just rotting there, useless. If there was an important email I was looking for which was somehow caught as a false [...]
