It’s a whopping 22.65 MB (or 22.70 MB, depending on where you look)! I wonder how big Firefox is.
Safari for Windows is the fastest and easiest-to-use web browser for the PC. It displays web pages faster than any other browser and is filled with innovative features — all delivered in an efficient and elegant user interface.

Centered image scaling with the X1300 Catalyst Control Panel does not work: my display is still stretched, and this is crucial for games like StarCraft.
Here was a very enlightening discussion about the same issue I have:
http://www.rage3d.com/board/showthread.php?t=33877543
On the Dell E228WFP monitor, “Auto Adjust,” “Positioning,” and “Image Settings” are grayed out. I think one of the options I need is in Image Settings, but unfortunately Dell thinks this is only needed for analog connections. I might see if I can do an analog connection to my PC just so I can get it to maintain the right aspect ratio at lower resolutions.
Here’s a page to verify that image settings are only available in analog mode:

So it’s still not fixed. Do you have an idea? Leave a comment.

If you’re trying to get the trial version of CA Anti-Virus, but there’s no license key on the web page, try Internet Explorer.
Their website doesn’t work in Mozilla Firefox, but it does in IE. Very strange.

Still trying to figure out how to disable Norton’s Phishing Protection toolbar. It doesn’t show up as a Firefox add-on. It’s like a virus. It’s spyware. It’s malware. I removed it by renaming the .dll and creating a blank text file with the same name. But when Firefox crashed, it was back on the next restart. It’s just incredibly hard to get rid of. How did they manage to get around Firefox’s add-on controls?

Here’s a URL used in one I saw today:
http://www.paypal.com7cgi-bin-webscr-LOGON-ID-LOGON-sec-user241756.gsecure.net.jikao.com.tw/.https://www.paypal.com/
(Don’t go there!)
That’s a long link, it starts with www.paypal.com, and it has words like “secure” in it. But visitor beware: the domain name is jikao.com.tw, not paypal.com!
Reported to Gmail as phishing.

Yesterday I encountered a problem on my Windows Vista laptop which nearly had me stumped. I have Windows Vista Home Premium, and last night my Internet connection stopped working. My main symptom was that Windows said “Local Access Only” in the status window that appears when you hover or click on the network icon. Normally, it says “Local and Internet”, if you have Internet access through the connection.
I don’t remember changing anything, so I messed with things a bit and they still didn’t work. I uninstalled the Cisco VPN software which I had recently installed, and rebooted both my computer and the router, but still no luck.
I Googled for solutions, and tried many things, but I believe it’s one of these three (or a combination of all three) things that did the trick:
- Disable IPv6. This means unchecking the box in Wireless Network Properties.
- Explicitly set your DNS address. This may be the IP of your router: for me, it’s 192.168.0.1, some routers use 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.2.1 or maybe even something else.
- Turn off your computer, cut power to the router. Give the router power again and wait for the lights to all go green, then power on the computer.
It worked for me!

Your port 80 is actually used by :
Information not available (might be Skype).
Cannot install the Apache service, please stop this application and try again.
Press Enter to exit…
Look in your taskbar for Skype. You may have to click the chevron (arrow) to reveal all of the hidden icons. Even if the Skype icon is gray, the application is still running. The gray color means that you aren’t logged into the Skype servers. However, the application is still reserving port 80, which is required for running a web server. (The HTTP protocol, by default, runs on port 80.)
