My Past

I really sympathize with the less fortunate, with the kids at school who are made fun of, who are not popular. Recently, I have been getting rather popular at school, but I’m simply not at all a popular type of person. Back at Oswalt Elementary, and especially at Suzanne Middle School, I was a complete idiot. And yet I was in many ways the same person I am now. I hope I never forget that. I don’t want to give in to joining the popular group. Only now am I really seeing the effects of peer pressure for the first time. I am popular and relatively well-known today, but I wasn’t always, and sometimes it seems far too easy to simply forget my past. And yet, I can’t, because I relate much better with other students who are left out like I once was.

Elliot Lee can sympathize: Only now am I really seeing the effects of peer pressure for the first time. I am popular and relatively well-known today, but I wasn’t always, and sometimes it seems far too easy to simply forget…

Interesting post. What year are you? I had that sort of thing happen my junior/senior year, but I wasn’t what you’d call “popular.” Just someone everyone knew because I was me…and there were only about 40 people in my graduating class. (Yes, it’s a public school.)

Class of 2006 at Walnut High School. I’m not really “popular” either, but at least people think positively of me. I think there are a few hundred students in my class and yes, it’s a public school.

    Thanks for the comment.
