  2. Arry Pottr says:

I got the book the day it came out and it was on sale for 15 bucks!

  3. M says:

one thing that didnt make sense to me… halfway throught the book, harry wonders if the halfblood prince could have been his father or sirius… so he checks the date and this proves to him that it couldnt have been, it says so in the book. Its older so we asume the half blood prince is voldemort… but then it turns out to be snape!? who we know was in the same year at school as james and sirius. whats going on with that.

  4. Nyah says:

Well i think harry obviously is the last horcrux that Voldermort accidentally made. Either he’ll have to kill himself…or he’ll have to get rid of his scar.
I also believe that Neville and Luna will probably hook up (hopefully ^^). And if harry has to kill himself b/c he loves instead of thinking only about himself, he should be reunited with his parents (well of course he will be..duh…well if he dies) and get to talk to them… ooo i hope she lets us read that!!!! That would suck for everyone is harry dies though….WAAAAAA.
I have a terrible feeling that one of the weasley’s (probably percy) will get killed and hagrid too…..if anyone has otherwise please write that…I don’t want hagrid to die (percy can though… nyah!!).

  5. FAWKS-ROCKS says:

think rab is sirius’ brother. any better suggestions?

  6. Curious says:

Ok, I think the whole RAB thing is sirius’ brother is true… but do you think he’s really dead? I mean I know they say that about 3 times in the book, but remember Peter Pettigrew? And what about crookshanks?

  7. Ms. Anonymous says:

I agree–Malfoy shouldn’t have been scared to kill Dumbledore. After all, he seemed so confident in himself when he tried to keep Harry on the train back to London. That was a little off..

  8. Ms. Anonymous says:

    RAB is so Regulus Black.’
I’m thinking…maybe the 7th book will have a teeny bit to do with why the Bloody Baron has blood all over his robes…

  9. rev_20 says:

    1. Sirius’ portrait was burned by his mom for being a “Mudblood lover.”
    2. R.A.B: Regulus A. Black: Sirius’ brother switched sides and that was why he was killed. (Goblet Of Fire)
    3. Harry will not use 12 Gimmauld Place but will visit it. Bellatrix LeStrange (closest pureblood relative of the Black family) calls it home now.
    4. The jeweled cup Mundungus stole is now a Horcrux.
    5. The necklace would not be at 12 Gimmauld Place. He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named wouldn’t leave it under the noses of the Order. The Black Family was not his favorite.
    6. Harry is not a Horcrux.
    7. Snape is a Douchebag.
    8. Dumbledore, oh ’tis a sad, sad day.
    9. Angie, good question. Where is Fawkes going?
    10. Book No. 7 will take more than a year to come out. J.K. has a baby to take care of. I wrote to her and got a nice reply. She was really nice.

  10. Zo-Zo says:

I was dead sad that Dumbledore died and i wish JKR never killed him off. i agree when people say that the characters who have died ie. Harrys Parents, Serius Black and Dumbledore should be able to talk to harry and help him by talking to him as a Ghost or a portrait.
I think that JKR is an amazing author. She captures the readers minds injust a few words. I wish she would hurry up and write that last book because i have an addiction and i keep on thinking about Harry Potter non-stop. i have HPitis its were you are addicted to the books and films. i even dream about being in hogwarts!Weird!
I really need to know how to get into Harry Potter films coz i feel i will not rest till i get in one i waonder how to get to the auditions! plz tell me if i am loosing my mind or its normal!

    Hi folks,

Just read the book. Allthough I expected something like in the last chapters happened, I was still stunned by all the actions on the last pages
I’m waiting for the final book number 7. If then it turns out to be that Dumbledore doesn’t come back in any way, I think I’ll rewrite the last three chapters of this book. Something that Dumbledore didn’t die and stays on the background for protecting Harry and the others. I’ll think of something….

  12. ReadItTwice says:

I hated it the first time…. thought about it for a few days….reread it again and understood more of what ‘could’ be in the final book.

Kudo’s JK for making us 1. Read and 2. Think!

  13. Louisa from ID says:

Well, I thought the book was awesome! Though the parts that told Voldemort’s past seemed a little boring. I was really anxious for Harry and Ginny to hook up. Plus Hermione and Ron had to come together too. I was also very shocked in the second chapter when it talked about Snape turning evil. I didn’t want to belieive it! Of course he was always a snot to Harry, and I still wish Dumbledore had told Harry the reason why he trusted Snape. (Which I think will be revealed in the next book) Plus I think Harry will find that and more of Dumbledore’s past maybe in the pensieve, because I think Dumbledore knew he was going to die. Oh well. I can’t wait for the next book!

  14. _ says:

i think malfoy would’ve taken dumbledore’s protection if he had longer to think about it.

  15. barry says:

i always wanted to know how is that no one can disapparate in hogwarts but the house elfs can and why could’nt draco get a house elf to try and kill dumbledore he tried other stupid ideas like the necklace hey maybe he should of had a house elf bring in the necklace instead of katie, it seems like rowling ran out of things to write in the begining but than put enough in the for a whole new book definitly could of draged out the end a little more. i’m still not sure if i liked the book or its just thst i liked the other ones so much that i had to find out what was going to happen.either way a definite page turner, sad ending.

  16. Miguel Angel from SPAIN says:

    Ey guys, everything PRETTY EASYYYY
    I KNOW IT

Ok, I will try to explain it in few words. Even if english is not my mother tonge

Snape is in the good side, along with Dumbledor. In fact is as well follower of him as Harry.
When Dumbledore says…”severus…please…..” what is really saying is “…please Snape, you must kill me, as we said” so that’s way when Harry is running after Snape, he sais….” I AM NOT A COWARD!” and the book explains that Snape is saying such words “with PAIN” not with RAGE. So it means definetly that Snape had to kill Dumbledore because he wanted to be killed by him, and messieures….why by Snape???….why Dumbledore had to be killed????…yes…the answer is easy even if many people dont like it….it is to save DRACO MALFOY.
Yes friends, Draco was sent by Voldemort to kill Dumbledore under penalty death. And Snape made the Vow. So the only way to save both them for Dumbledore is to die. Snape and Dumbledore act as that, to save Malfoy. And in the 7th book, we will discover that Snape will die to save Harry when fighting Voldemort, and Malfoy will pass to the good side. Yes my friends, Dumbledore saved Malfoy. And hi wasn’t mistaken about Snape. You will see. Pretty easy.
    GREETINGS FROM SPAIN!

  17. dan says:

i agree with the fact that snape killed dumbledor to save malfoys and hisselfs lives to and they will help harry later on. i dont agree on the regulus balck thing though but i do think the horucrux (or whatever) is in the black house. i also think that gwarp will show up in the second book and be more useful to whats left of the order. u would think that dumbledor would turn into a ghost because he is 1. a really important person and 2. he would want to help harry in finding the horocruxes. a thing that has been bugging me throughout all the books was that the ghosts dont try to help in trying to find voldemort and the deatheaters because…they cant get hurt or anything by the deatheaters and the can also like u know…fly and i think that in one of the books peeves turned invisible so couldnt the ghosts turn invisible and spy on them (if they find them) i also wonder if stan shumpnik (the conductor of the knight bus or whatever has to do with something with the 7th book. Last but not least…i was wondering what the name of the wizard that turned innto mad eye moody in the G.O.F.
thats all and have a great rest of the summer!!!

  18. Marta says:

I agree with Miguel Angel about some points but I dont think Dumbledore really wanted to be killed. He was conscious of the possibility of dying and knew the consequences of it but I think Dumbledore, till the very end thought Snape wouldn’t do anything “bad” such as killing him, for example, he is not the kind of person who would make another one sacrifice a human. But he didnt know about the Unbreakable Vow, he would have never aproved it, probably Snape didnt know what was the plan Narcissa was talking about and risked a lot for a piece of information.
And there was in the beginning of the forum a question about the phrase “in essence divided”. I think it’s quite clear that he was talking about Voldemorts soul divided between horcruxes, he already told us, but I thought Voldemort would be divided between himself and Harry but didnt make sense.
Someone can help counting the Horcruxes?
1Diary,destroyed. 2 Ring: destroyed. 3 Necklace: destroyed? 4 Hufflepuff’s goblet: to be found. 5 Nagini: to be killed. 6 & 7 Ravenclaw and Gryffindor’s objects (sword): only speculation.
Correct me if it’s wrong please, thank you

by th way…i like cheese too

  20. Finally finshed the book. I really haven’t figured out whether I liked this book all that much. ( I did, and I didn’t) Some of the book seemed as if JKR had a bit of difficultiy with development. Don’t get me wrong, the book was developed quite well, and the ending tied up quite nicely. My problem would be with the long drawn out introduction, It seemed that you could cut the book in half and the you would stil get the jist of the story.

My other thought as well would lie with Snape. Did he really kill Dumbledore? It would seem that the way the book ends that there would be more then seven books? Is JKR really going to kill the golden goose that is the HP franchise? I know she said that there was only going to be seven books, but it’s not writen in stone. It seems like the seveth book would have to be twice as long as the six in order to wrap things up.

My wife believes that when the seveth book is released, the store will branch off into separate books with the three characters off to right the wrongs of the magical world.

My question to all: do you believe that Dumbuldore is really dead? Can he be really alive behind the scenes on the prusuit of He who most not be named? It would be easier for him if everyone believed he was no more? It was also explain Snape’s character: Everyone believed him to be evil, hence he is capable of doing such a haneuse act. Perfect cover for Dumbuldore’s plans. He could also want to motivate Harry Potter into action?
Now, before being flamed, I’m only asking questions: Just posing a “what if situation”. Let me know what you think? I would be most interested to know if anyone else has somewhat the same notion?

    Peace, and greatings from Brooklyn!!!!

  21. Joe says:

I’m glad that I read these comments, because I was so bummed out to read Dumbledore dying and Snape being the one to do it. I now am under the belief that Snape killed Dumbledore as an ally, and not as an enemy. I wonder if the reason that Dumbledore trusts Snape so deeply is because Snape did an unbreakable vow with Dumbledore to serve him. So Snape could have had 2 unbreakable vows, each seemingly different, but both with the same results – to kill Dumbledore.

One more thought about this. Dumbledore said he cared about Harry in the previous book… could that have actually been love, and in dying, he has given an even stronger flow of love through his blood??

I wondered about the house-elf disapparation thing too, but I remember in one of the books it stated that house-elfs had older and more powerful means of magic, they just don’t use it. Could explain disapparation I guess.

Regulus Black was killed by Voldemort (or one of this death eaters) as in book 5, so maybe he was a double agent also.

The part of people was turned into ghosts when dying was explained earlier too… basically, the only wizards who stay are ones who are afraid of death and want to stay on earth. Most wizards understand it’s just a next step, so therefore Harry’s Mom and Dad just wanted to move on.

  22. shruti says:

to all the readers who have been feeling sad about the harry – ginny breakup: after careful thought i feel that harry does not yet love ginny- its just a massive crush. i think JKR did a great thing by showing a breakup. it just sets the plot for the grand finale.
Ginny loves harry. But Harry needs to fall in love with her to be able to feel the real power of love. thats how they will be able to come together & fight Voldemort with this powerful weapon.
    Comments?

and BTW i agree, Thank you JKR for making us * read & * think!

    cheers…..

  23. Melody says:

Think about it. This is a children’s book, so i don’t expect that this is really the end of dumbledore. Also, i still think that Snape isn’t a death eater, and what dumbledore actually meant when he said ,”Severus, please,” we won’t find out about it until the next book. I bet JK was just trying to make some suspence. I Guess she really did..

P.S: Regulus is the one who got the really got the horcurx, and Harry isn’t one. The cup that mundungus stole is a horucux. I sure of it

  24. Angelicz says:

    Hmm…
1.Snape isn’t a death eater( not exactly sure though )
    2.Harry isn’t a horcrux
3.Maybe, just Maybe, dumbledore didn’t die? Cuz maybe he drank the draught of whatyoucallthat, the draught of living death i think.
    4. Harry may die at the end
    5. There isn’t a horcrux in 12 grimmauld Place, voldermort wouldn’t have put one under everybody’s nose, he knows that sooner or later somebody will find if he put’s it there.

Heh heh some of my statements were the same as Melody and rev, but that’s what i think.
    Enjoy!

  25. Mike says:

I think Regulas is most likely RAB but with JKR you never know. I don’t think that they were right in picking the basilisk as the 7th horcrux. I’m not convinced it is Harry, but that was what I thought when reading the book and it makes sense with the prophecy. We don’t know a lot about Horcruxes and if they can backfire or cause weird things to happen if you try and make a person become one. I think Dumbledore is dead, but he seems crafty enough to have a way to help harry.
