Deleted 31,000 spam emails from Gmail

I just deleted over 31,000 spams from my Google email account because I felt like it.

There’s no way I was going to sift through all that stuff, although I guess it’s always possible to search it.

Interesting..and ironic: the one “pingback” you have for this article is from a blog that appears to set up entirely for pingback spam. Every single post says:

“I read an interesting post today on CA Student Sustainability Coalition Convergence
    Here’s a quick excerpt…

Indeed. I hate pingback spam. I’ve deleted the spam pingback.

One thing to note about Gmail: it automatically deletes spam after 30 days. So I fully expect to be seeing a 31,000-ish number by this time next month.

Hmmm.. why bother deleting spam? I can only see a negative which is accidently deleting a real message you might later need to search to find. Spam doesn’t affect your quota does it?

I believe it IS included in your quota, BUT it is deleted after 30 days anyway. Me, I’m already back up to 60,850 spams as of now.
