Windows XP SP2 puts back Microsoft gunk

Okay, so I’ve upgraded to SP2.

One thing I noticed immediately is that my Quick Launch toolbar had 2 icons added. This is a service pack, you fix security flaws, great. However, the installer also put back Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player icons into the Quick Launch toolbar. Ugly, really ugly.

Another example of M$ using Windows to push their other software (browser, media player). What about their competition, such as Firefox? Nowhere to be seen, of course.

Strike two.

Microsoft also added a “Windows Marketplace” link to my IE Links toolbar. I don’t want that junk. I was never given an option not to install it.
