Conveniences I love

I’ll update this list as time goes on.

1. mini Sharpie. It’s great always having one of these with me. I keep it on my keychain.
2. WalnutSolar.org t-shirts. I wear them daily.
3. Twist-ties. I have enough of these now that my sister gets them for me (from grocery stores).
4. mini stapler. It must (1) use regular staples, (2) have staple storage in its base, and (3) have a staple remover on the back.
5. scroll wheel on my mouse. It’s virtually a requirement now.
6. middle button. I only started using this a few days ago. I used to ctrl+click, but I’ve gotten lazy.
7. mini highlighter. in the past week I’ve taken to the habit of throwing one of these into my pocket.
8. 12-ounce bottle of water. Small enough to drink away if it’s too heavy, big enough to prevent dehydration.
9. nail clipper. every desk should have one. the only time I remember to do it is when I’m typing, clicking, or writing.
10. unlimited paper towels. Instantly dry hands, clean face, clean desk, remove dust, napkins for eating and paper for writing notes.

What else have you found to be incredibly useful?

ziplock bags, great for organizing anything, esp little pieces of stuff.

    Knoppix.

I carry it in a small folder so that I can demo GNU/Linux anytime, any place I go. It’s like a security blanket, just in case you find yourself stranded on a desert island with a computer.
