I need a WordPress Captcha plugin

It needs to:

  • Be plug-and-play with WordPress plugins
  • Work with WordPress 2.0.1 and up
  • Work without using ttf fonts (imagettftext is not supported on my server)
  • Work with Akismet
  • Work with the “Welcome back” thing that WordPress does

I looked at seven different Captcha plugins today. I spent a long time trying to customize Nio’s Anti Spam Image plugin, to no avail. Not a single one met my requirements. Not a single one worked. Any suggestions?

are you getting a lot of spam?

Yes, thousands. It’s the mindless kind of spam that clearly won’t get through, but I still have to see it because I need to check Akismet for false positives. If I just forced everyone to type “hi” in a box when they comment, it would be eliminated.. hmm.. maybe I’ll try coding a custom solution.
