Remove Language Bar

With Windows XP Pro, the “Language Bar” always appears in your taskbar on startup. To disable it, go to the Control Panel -> Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options -> Regional and Language Options -> Languages tab -> Details… -> Language Bar… -> Uncheck the box that says “Show the Language bar on the desktop”.

  5. This appeared after I did a Windows Update and I couldn’t figure out how to remove it. Thanks for making clear instructions. FYI, this works in XP non-Pro edition with the difference being the “Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options” Icon is two separate icons with “Date & Time” being one of them.
