SingTel 3G Hi Card iPhone

For a couple days I’ve been trying to get 3G data service working on my iPhone. I followed the instructions provided by SingTel, but it didn’t work until I changed my APN settings:

For Singtel Hi Card! prepaid user on iPhone, you may follow this settings:
hi Card (SingTel Prepaid)
APN: hicard
Username: 65 (e.g. 6591234567)
Password: 65ideas
Turn On the 3G, Cellular Data and Data Roaming.
It works on my iPhone 4, but don’t expect fast speed haha.
Enjoy.

i tried your method. it worked!

i also tried without username/password, and it worked!

But somehow like you say, the speed is super slow and unstable.
From my smartphone, i can tell that it’s only connected via GPRS, not even EDGE, no need to say 3G nor HSDPA.
    Anyone knows why?

Singtel 3G hi card phone username is on the first line of the barcode. It does not begin with 65. Mine was 86. Thanks a lot

Elliot thank you so much! Have been trying to connect my iPhone 4 for a day and a half. For hi!card prepaid accounts, username & password is not required, only the APN change.
In answer to Linus’ question, there are specific hi!cards that use a 3G platform, but many of the cheaper prepaid sim’s still utilize 2G and EDGE, make sure you select a 3G capable sim as the SingTel 2G network is as slow and unstable as GPRS in other countries.
I made this mistake and noticed the slow speeds, after buying the correct 3G sim, the speed is very fast.

Hi, I’m using a HTC Snap, and I’ve tried all the above settings but still cannot get a connection with my Singtel 3G Hi Card. I could access the Internet when I used the Starhub Prepaid card previously. Please help! Thanks!

  23. Yes it is really stupid for the SingTel to sell the prepaid phone card but not write down the details how to work for ipad/iphone etc. Last time i need to call the operator and wasted $$$ and time to find out how to make the phone card to works.
But thanks elliot for the info..
